Laura Alexander 

 

Laura Alexander first came to the school in 2004 for playgroup with her daughter, Cecilia, who was one year old at the time.  When it was time for school she and her husband, Fabian Alfie, couldn’t imagine sending Cece anywhere else. Laura has served on the board of the Tucson Waldorf School on and off since 2006.  Currently, Laura is providing leadership for the capital campaign to raise funds for the building of the new River Bend campus.

Professionally, Laura is the principal and founder of Alexander Associates, a consulting firm dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations achieve their missions by providing experienced, expert counsel in strategic planning, organizational development, and sustainable fund development practices. Laura has worked in the nonprofit sector since 1988 – as a consultant, executive director, development director, program director, board member and volunteer. Prior to founding her own firm, Laura Alexander served as the Executive Director of the Birth & Women’s Health Center for five years, as the Development Director at the Women’s Foundation of Southern Arizona for three years, and as the Executive Director of Domestic Abuse Intervention Services in Madison, WI for five years. She also held positions at Native Seeds/SEARCH and Wingspan Domestic Violence Project, both in Tucson. Laura holds a Master’s Degree in Philanthropy & Fund Development from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.
