Why Give to Both?
When you make a gift to the Give & Grow Annual Fund, you help Tucson Waldorf School strive for excellence in a variety of capacities; from faculty enrichment, specialty programs like music, handwork, woodworking and language to community education as well as basic classroom and facility needs. Your gift is one of the most profound statements of support our school can receive. No gift is too small and each one is deeply valued. The Annual Fund is our school's primary fundraising vehicle to cover the gap between tuition and operating costs. Because outside organizations interested in supporting TWS often ask about the support provided by our families, it is vital that every family make a Give & Grow Annual Fund contribution. The role of the Annual Fund has been and remains a vital element in the Tucson Waldorf School present excellence and future success. Your gift to the Give & Grow Annual Fund is a charitable contribution and is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Your support keeps TWS strong. When you contribute to Arizona Waldorf Scholarship Foundation, you are redirecting your taxes to support education and provide scholarships to eligible families at no cost to you. What is the Tax Tuition Support Program? Arizona tax law allows families to contribute to three tax programs that benefit private schools, public schools and organizations working to support the working poor. (You can contribute to all three.) This is NOT a donation program. The state allows you to REDIRECT your taxes from the state general fund to a qualified Arizona Tax Tuition Organization, like AWSF. You can give AWSF a contribution and take it directly off your tax liability. If your pay stub says you paid Arizona Withholding Tax, you can participate in the program. How much can I contribute? Any amount will help, but Arizona limits you to $500 if single filing, $1,000 if married filing jointly. You can carry over to next year any amount you contribute over your tax liability. How does it work? You simply write a check to AWSF (preferred) or make a contribution online. You receive a letter acknowledging your contribution, file your taxes normally with forms provided by AWSF and - voila! - you don't owe that money to the state. When you make your gift, please specify if your contribution was encouraged by a specific family. They may be able to reduce their tuition payments for next year. A school tuition organization cannot award, restrict or reserve scholarship solely on the basis of donor recommendation. A taxpayer may not claim a tax credit if the taxpayer agrees to swap donations with another taxpayer to benefit either taxpayer's own dependent. Thank you for both your support of the Give & Grow Annual Fund to support TWS teachers and programs and your tax credit contribution to AWSF to provide scholarships! From all of us – THANK YOU! |
