Grade 2 Teacher
Susan Sterns

Susan hails from Buffalo, New York and brings with her over a decade of  experience teaching in public, parochial and private schools in the Western New York area. Having undergraduate and graduate degrees in Elementary Education from the State University of New York College at Buffalo as well as a Foundation Studies Certificate from the Center for Anthroposophy in Wilton, NH, Susan is grateful for her myriad of teaching experiences in urban and suburban settings which she feels brings a strength to her Waldorf teaching.  Susan believes that the deep connection that is fostered between class teacher and student through the Waldorf Pedagogy has an everlasting impact on all involved.  Susan continues her study of Anthroposophy at Rudolf Steiner College in Sacramento, CA in the Grades Teacher Certification program.

Susan has two beloved children who are in the Grades program at Tucson Waldorf School. When Susan is not teaching nor spending time with her children and animals, she enjoys knitting, needle-felting, reading, biking, hiking, gardening, cooking, enhancing her amateur sommelier skills, making jewelry, studying biodynamic viticulture and yoga.
