Volunteer Opportunities

The success of our school depends on your participation. We request that each family volunteer at least 4 hours per month. There are many opportunities for parent volunteers: work parties during school breaks, scheduled volunteer support in the classroom, event set-up and clean-up, and committee service. Committees are listed below.

ARIZONA WALDORF SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION
Educate the community and encourage support for the tax credit program, a vital source of income to the school that funds 80% of our scholarships.

BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS
Oversee the care and maintenance of the grounds, physical structures and play yards.

COMPUTER/ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
Our goal is to establish computer system compatible with our needs. This includes website maintenance/design, community database, email and making technology work for us!

CRAFT CIRCLE
Support the Craft Faire and the school store through weekly craft circle.

ENROLLMENT/MARKETING
Represent our school at community events and help us spread the word about Waldorf Education. This also includes writing press releases, website maintenance, marketing materials, placement, etc.

FESTIVALS
Support the faculty in creating the many festivals celebrated each year. We organize the practical aspects of each festival.

FINANCES
Advise the Board and faculty on the fiscal health of the organization. Oversee the budget process and the tuition assistance program. (Meets monthly prior to board meeting.)

FUNDRAISING
Facilitate and coordinate vital fundraising activities developed for the school. Projects include Annual Giving campaign, grant writing, planned giving and all new fundraising ideas.

HOSPITALITY
Organize refreshments for our school's outreach functions such as Open House and Community meetings.

LIBRARY
Join the bookworms to make an exciting reading atmosphere for our children and our community. Accept, select and catalog both children and adult books for the library.

SILENT AUCTION
Organize this annual fundraising event including venue, donations, decorations and entertainment.

SITE DEVELOPMENT
Plan for the future of our school.

ROOM PARENTS
Each class teacher is supported by Room Parents who help with logistics, arrangements and phone calls to keep class parents informed.
